Hugh Mantel is a retired lecturer in psychology at the John Moores University in Liverpool and an Olympic slalom coach. He helped Richard Fox to a canoeing gold medal at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and has helped many of our paddlers ever since. Hugh has received over 10 special awards and honours for his work including his O.B.E presented by Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace in 1994. He is a compelling speaker and will talk about the development of Slalom Canoeing in the UK, our athletes and the new white water course in London.
