Overnight Bivvi (Camp) on Peel Island (Made famous by the book Swallows and Amazons). We intend to meet late afternoon and paddle down to Peel Island, where we will set-up camp for the night (Sheltered island with trees which provides a very sheltered area. Sunday morning leave early for a paddle on the lake to return to start for the late morning.

We intend to meet at Machells Coppice car park on far side of lake just before Brantwood estate and house.
Any boats welcome as long as you can find one of us to carry your sleeping bag / any food.
Several open boats and sea kayaks are going.

Peel Island is a small sheltered island with trees)
I will put up a large tarpaulin for people to sleep under (or bring a tent if you prefer but there is not very much room - see photo below)
We will also have a BBQ to cook on (Just bring some food if you want to use it).

Please let me know if you are planning on joining us this weekend. Ideal first camping trip (only 12 hours or less)

Travel information
Easiest route to the start is probably via Newby Bridge and then Greenodd (Turn right and cross the river Crake before you get to the lake) although many find it easier navigation to come from North End of the Lake past Brantwood Stately Home as the bridge / road has been closed in previous years because of repairs.
